Two big Leicestershire business have given their support to a major charity fundraiser.
It will raise money for the LOROS hospice which supports thousands of poorly people and their families across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland.
The run takes place on September 14, and over the last three years has raised more than £300,000 local charities, including LOROS, Age UK, and the Rainbows children’s hospice in Loughborough.
This year’s event is even more special as it is dedicated to Rothley 10k founder Colin Favell, who passed away in February 2020.
Mr Favell was instrumental to the run’s success over the years, and entrants will be remembering his dedication, enthusiasm and love for the event as they dust off their running shoes.
Ian Mattioli chief executive of lead sponsor Mattioli Woods said: “The whole team is absolutely delighted to have Champions on board as one of this year’s sponsors.
“We’ve worked with Champions for a number of years now, so it is great to have their ongoing support in other areas of our work, too.”
Matthew Hayes, managing director of Champions (UK) plc said: “We couldn’t be happier to be sponsoring this year’s Rothley 10k event. It’s been a difficult year for everybody but even more so for the charity sector, so it is great to able to show our support.
“The Rothley10k race raises money for such a good cause, and I am immensely proud to have members of the Champions family taking part and many of us will also be there cheering everybody on.”
