Jurgen Klopp previews Crystal Palace clash

Alisson Becker has detailed his exit plan from Liverpool despite penning new deal at club.

The 28-year-old recently agreed to stay at Anfield for six more years and continue his “happy” time under Jurgen Klopp, with his family also settled on Merseyside.

From his formidable performances in the Champions League to his late game-winning goal last season to help the Reds to a third-place Premier League finish, Alisson has proved pivotal to Klopp and co’s success since signing from Roma for £66.8 million in 2018.

But, despite admitting he would have “no problem” remaining with Liverpool for the remainder of his career, Alisson would like to re-join Brazilian side Internacional if given the chance, having started his career with the club from his homeland.

“I am the kind of person who has a long term perspective and long term plans,” the stopper said in an interview on Soccer Saturday ahead of the Reds hosting Crystal Palace on Saturday.

“I am really happy about it because me and my family are really settled. We are good settling in the club and this country. It’s a different country and culture for us but we are really happy here and our kids are really happy here.”

Alisson went on to state: “I have no problem to play all of my career here. Obviously I have a desire to play again for my former club in Brazil.

“Always when I speak of that, I give the supporters a little bit of hope. This is something I want to do but I am really happy here and really happy about this deal.

“And I can see the supporters and the people in the club are happy as well,” he added.

Klopp is clearly keen to keep Brazil’s No.1 around, with his own contract as boss expiring in 2024.

The German also recently outlined his plans for a sabbatical upon leaving Anfield, telling RTL : “When the contract in Liverpool ends, whenever it will be, I first have to find out what it is like to lead a ‘normal’ life again.

“A year off. I’ve never had that. But I’m deeply relaxed there. When you’re out for a year, it can also be a good thing that maybe no cock crows at me, which is perfectly fine,” he explained.

“What I do is unbelievable fun. I really enjoy what I do. The only problem is that in my job you have no end of the day, no chance to switch off.

Klopp questioned: “Do I really have to have that into old age? I don’t know.”
