Arsenal made it two Premier League wins in a row as they beat Burnley 1-0 at Turf Moor, helping to ease the pressure further on under-fire manager Mikel Arteta
The former Sheffield United ‘keeper divided opinion when Mikel Arteta sanctioned a £24million transfer in the summer window.
Much of the confusion surrounded whether Ramsdale would have any immediate impact, with Bernd Leno the man with the No.1 jersey at the Emirates.
However, after Leno shipped nine goals in three defeats to start the season, Arteta opted to bring in his new signing to help turn the tide.
And he’s done just that, registering shutouts against Norwich and Burnley, with Arsenal showing signs of righting their disastrous start to the new campaign.

Against the Clarets, Ramsdale passed his first major test, helping keep out Sean Dyche’s side, despite a portion of aerial bombardment in the second half.
But it wasn’t just his overall play which impressed his new boss, with Arteta also pointing to his leadership abilities behind a young and inexperienced back four.
Asked whether his command of the area represented his character, Arteta said: “ Yes, exactly. That’s his character and his leadership.
“That’s how he presents himself as a person as well and that’s what I like. He has a presence and he dominates his area.”
Anthony White, Ramsdale’s former coach at Bournemouth noticed the same thing during his days on the south coast, telling Sky Sports: “He is a positive guy, a leader and an influential figure in the dressing room. The thing that keeps amazing me is the fact he thrives in every situation.
“It’s like having a coach on the pitch.”
And those leadership credentials were on full display at Turf Moor as he leapt to the defence of Kieran Tierney during the second half.
The Scotland international was down in the box after suffering with a bout of cramp, causing Burnley midfield Ashley Westwood to approach him.
Ramsdale was quick to push Westwood out of Tierney’s face so he could get the treatment he needed and he was ultimately substituted.
Arteta suggested that the pitch had something to do with Tierney’s issues and even if it wasn’t a serious one, Ramsdale was taking no chances with his new colleague.
Arsenal fans may have been underwhelmed when he arrived, but he is doing everything he can to turn the tide of opinion – and quickly.
