Fundraiser for family of Scots girl who died after being sent home from hospital

A fundraiser has been launched for the family of a young Scots girl who tragically died after being sent home from hospital with a suspected migraine.

Close family friend Cheryl Kempsell is looking to raise money after little Theia Mckie tragically lost her life on Wednesday – the day after being sent home from Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary with medication.

The seven-year-old, from Dumfries, was in agonising pain when she looked at lights and was continually being sick.

Her devastated family are awaiting answers on her tragic death as a post mortem is still to be carried out.

They are keen not to place any blame until they know her cause of death.

Cheryl’s fundraiser, which has so far raised a third of its £1,000 target, hopes to help devastated parents Tracey Currie and Ainsley Mckie “at this difficult time”

A tribute on the GoFundMe described young Theia as a “beautiful” and “sassy” princess.

The post read: “Beautiful Theia has been taken far too soon, seven-year-old beautiful, sassy princess.

“I would like to raise some money for the family at this difficult time.

“Shine bright beautiful.”

Earlier today, Theia’s mum Tracy also posted thanking people for their support as she described her daughter as the epitome of life.

She wrote: “We would like to say that we are incredibly moved by the outpouring of love that has been shown for Theia.

“We have been offered so much support and condolences on the loss of our little princess! Abs we will be eternally grateful.

“We physically cannot answer all the messages comments etc.but every single one, shows us how loved and special our girl was!

“She was bright, funny, sassy, always smiling, she loved to sing and dance and draw and she just loved to love! She was the epitome of life itself! She literally lived and loved like there was no tomorrow!

“Our families can only find slight comfort in the fact that we knew, she knew how loved and special she was, and that she had the best 7 years we could have possibly given her!

“Shine bright baby! #foreverseven”
