The 19-year-old has enjoyed a stunning start to the season after bagging three in his opening three games for Manchester United, continuing his fine form against Wolves
His 80th minute strike should have arguably been saved by Wolves shot stopper Jose Sa, but found its way into the bottom corner of the net – writing Greenwood’s name in the history books in the process.
The late winner means Greenwood joins an exclusive group made up of some of the best players the Premier League has seen as just the fourth player to reach twenty Premier League goals before he turns 20.
The goal also means Greenwood is just second teenager to score in the opening three games of a Premier League season after Fowler more than two decades ago.
Greenwood has been the subject of praise from a number of former United stars, including club legend Roy Keane, who told Sky Sports after the game: “With players like Greenwood on the pitch, as poor as they were today, you always thought United could get one goal today.”
His sentiments were echoed by United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who described the 19-year-old as a “special” player after the game.
When asked over Greenwood’s omission from the England squad ahead of the upcoming international break, Solskjaer revealed he has already spoken to Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate and discussed the teenage striking sensation.
“We both can see him becoming a top player for Man Utd and England, the boy of course wants to play for his country but I think for the moment the best for him is to focus on his everyday football.

“I’m sure he will come good for England in the end.”
United were fortunate to come away from the Molineux with all three points after spending much of the contest struggling to get a foothold in midfield, Adama Traore running riot for the opening hour but failing to make the visitors pay.
The hosts spurned a number of chances which eventually proved costly after Greenwood’s effort was enough to separate the two sides.
United now sit third in the table having taken seven points from their opening three games of the season.
