Shocking videos show terrifying shootings in Liverpool and the surrounding areas.
The CCTV clips were once a rare phenomenon however they are becoming increasingly common in Liverpool Crown Court.
One video shows a gunman riding up alongside a car on his bike and then shooting inside the vehicle, forcing the three men inside to jump out and run.
The Liverpool Echo reports the brutal footage was captured in the city’s Kirkdale district earlier this month, with two men injured in the incident.
Here are videos of shootings in the area in recent years:
Fake pizza delivery driver shot the wrong man
A gunman who was snared on CCTV was jailed in Liverpool as recently as last week, with former soldier Aaron Bretherton caught while pretending to be a pizza delivery driver.
Grainy images showed the white van that dropped him off on Poplars Avenue in the Orford area of Warrington, then helped him flee the scene.
That was after Bretherton, from Everton, had knocked on a door and fired four shots with a Glock handgun, hitting the man who answered once in the leg. The victim was not his intended target.
Bretherton, 24 and of Netherfield Road South, was sentenced to 22 years in jail, of which he must serve at least two thirds, and handed a five year extended licence.
Unmasked gunman stalked victim through McDonald’s car park
One of the most brazen gun attacks on Merseyside over recent years was a shooting carried out at the McDonald’s drive thru in Bromborough, Wirral.
David Pugh stalked his 21-year-old victim as he was being passed takeaway meals at the restaurant.
Despite the attack unfolding in daylight, Pugh was unmasked as he approached a black BMW and fired twice in front of horrified witnesses including families with children.
CCTV captured the moment the victim was hit by two bullets that went through his left buttock and right leg before Pugh, 32, jogged away to a waiting van.
Pugh, of Woolfall Crescent in Huyton, admitted inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing a firearm
He was jailed for 12 years and nine months, with an extended three years on licence.
CCTV thought to have captured moments before and after attack
In this case, detectives probing a street shooting released images of the suspected gunmen and the person they believed was the intended victim.
Two cars and a home were hit by gunfire during the attack on Reeds Road in Huyton in June.
But police think the actual target may have been a man on a pushbike who was captured cycling through the area around the time shots were fired.
Footage released by Merseyside Police initially shows two figures on what appears to be an electric bike. The pair, both dressed in black, can be seen riding down Reeds Road at around 7pm.
Eight minutes later a man on a push bike is recorded in the same area. He turns off the road before the figures on the other bike appear from the direction the cyclist had travelled.
No-one was injured in the shooting, but police stressed the incident could easily have turned tragic.
Gun and crowbar gang thugs smash through flat doors
This shocking footage shows two men armed with a gun and a crowbar smashing their way into flats in an apartment block in Southport.
Prosecutors said they were Karl Corson and Ryan Smith – two of the four men handed life sentences after being found guilty of the murder of Stephen Maguire.
Both denied they were the thugs captured on the footage – but the judge who oversaw their case said he was satisfied it was them following their convictions.
The footage was captured on March 9, 2020, one week before Mr Maguire was shot at the Guildford Road home of his partner.
The incident took place in a property on the same street where, seven days later, Corson, Smith, and two others kidnapped two teenagers and carried out the murder.
Corson, 28 and of Columbine Close, Melling, was sentenced to life with a minimum of 33 years in prison.
Smith, 21 and of Colquitt Street, Liverpool city centre, was sentenced to life with a minimum of 32 years in prison.
Gunman fires at fleeing men in Kirkdale
The most recent case was in Kirkdale.
A gunman can be seen riding along the road on a bike, which he jumps off before opening fire.
The video showed three men jumping out of a car and running away.
Merseyside Police became aware of the shooting after two men, one in his 20s and one in his 30s, attended the Royal with gunshot wounds to their hands and legs.
Inquiries led detectives to believe they were attacked on Stanley Road, where a trail of blood was found near the junction with Pansy Street.
