Fury and Paul look to be on a collision course after both picking up wins on the YouTube star’s recent fight card against Tyron Woodley and Anthony Taylor respectively
Jake Paul’s trainer BJ Flores has said that he has “signed off” on a fight with Tommy Fury, which could take place by the end of the year.
The YouTube star most recently defeated Tyron Woodley, and he was involved in a heated back-and-forth with the former Love Island finalist after the bout backstage as both men had won on the night.
Fury defeated MMA veteran Anthony Taylor on the undercard, and seems to have done enough to earn a big money bout against Paul.
Both men are relative novices in their careers, with Paul now 4-0 and Fury 7-0, and Mirror Fighting sources have indicated that talks are underway for a December fight date between both teams.
Paul has his own promotional company ‘Most Valuable Promotions’ which he runs with manager Nakisa Bidarian, while Fury is signed to Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions.

But they are both currently on the second of multiple-fight broadcasting deals with Showtime Boxing in the United States that began with the August 29 fight night.
Talks are still, according to Mirror Fighting sources, in the very early stages, and no venue or concrete date has been set, although the goal is to do it before the end of the year.
And in a recent appearance on the Don’t Blink podcast, Paul’s head coach Flores said that he has told the YouTube star he is behind him taking the fight.
“They [Paul’s management and Showtime] have been talking about Tommy Fury for quite some time,” Flores said of the fight.
“He’s a good looking kid, very charismatic, the younger brother of world heavyweight champion Tyson, he comes from that Gypsy background and he’s very tough.
“He’s one of those guys that doesn’t have all of the amateur credentials like Tyson or grow up the same way as he did, but he’s still a Fury so he’s going to be tough.”
Flores added that it is a bout which has garnered a lot of interest behind the scenes from broadcasters and businesspeople involved in Paul’s career.
“Showtime’s interested in that fight, I believe,” he continued. “I’m not going to say that it’s for sure the next fight that’s happening but I’ve signed off on that.
“I’ve said ‘yes, Jake should take that fight for sure’, but there were a couple of other names mentioned who I have signed off on as well, but we’ll see where it goes.”
Many pundits have said that Paul will struggle with a boxer who has fought at the professional level before, having previously beaten two UFC fighters, a basketball player and a YouTube star with limited amateur experience.
But Flores believes that the fight is a winnable one for Paul, who is expected to return to his Puerto Rican training base within this month in anticipation of his return to the ring.
“I would like the Fury fight to happen because I tend to hear a lot of people say ‘oh, once Jake fights a real boxer’ and all that, but these guys have no idea.
“We’re ready for these kinds of guys, and Fury will be the type of name that will put him on the map a little more as far as boxing fans go.”
