Paul has continued his trolling of pound-for-pound king Alvarez over his positive tests for a banned substance in 2018, as the Mexican prepares for his undisputed clash with rival Plant
Jake Paul has trolled Canelo Alvarez over his previous failed drugs tests ahead of his Caleb Plant test.
The YouTube star has previously called out the Mexican world champion as he continues his pursuit of a professional boxing career.
And Alvarez clashed with his current rival Plant at a press-conference ahead of their undisputed super-middleweight clash.
Paul has joined Plant in mocking Canelo’s failed drug test posting on social media accompanied with a poll.
“Canelo and Eddy avoiding the positive drug test question like,” Paul posted on social media with a video of a man ducking down.
He also added a poll: “Who do you think won that press conference, Caleb or Caleb?”
Alvarez failed two drugs tests three days apart in 2018 as he tested positive for banned substance clenbuterol, which can be used to treat asthma but can also be used to build lean muscle mass.
He blamed the positive tests on eating contaminated meat, but was handed a six-month ban – reduced from one year after he co-operated with authorities.
Paul, 24, has frequently sparked rivalries with several current boxing fighters including British light-heavyweight Tommy Fury.
Although Paul has admitted previously that he is “delusional” for asking to fight Alvarez, who he is keen to fight on a route to become world champion.
“You’re exactly right. I definitely am partially delusional with how confident I am in my ability,” Paul said.
“But confidence is different than underestimating somebody and I saw that when I fought Ben Askren. He underestimated me, he came in and wasn’t prepared.

“That was what sort of motivated me but now it’s like hey I want to become world champion, I want to fight and beat Canelo.
“So this has been a roller coaster ride – I didn’t expect it to be here. I just knew that I loved fighting and I knew that I was good at it.”
Canelo faces another tough test against Plant as he bids to become undisputed champion in November.
But he believes any fight with Paul will have to “wait” until afterwards, with further plans made to potentially make a shift higher up the divisions in the future.
“No not right now, he isn’t ready yet,” Alvarez said. “He needs to keep improving, and good luck to him.”
Plant was the first to mention Alvarez’s failed drug test at the press-conference with fiery words exchanged.
And the 29-year-old also was forced to detail the confusion that sparked the chaotic scenes, after an alleged insult aimed towards the Mexican’s mother.
“My mother was shot and killed by the police 2yrs ago,” Plant posted on Twitter. ‘Why would I ever bring anyone’s mother up and even if I didn’t give a f***, why would I open that door up just for someone to come up me and tell me ‘didn’t your mom get shot and killed by the police dummy’?
“No way you all believe that s***. Truth is he’s mad he’s got someone in front of him who isn’t scared of him and isn’t just here to pick up a check and his ego can’t handle it.”
