Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley face off ahead of fight

Fans were outraged after one judge scored Jake Paul to have lost his bout with Tyron Woodley last night, which he won by split decision.

The YouTube star comfortably defeated Woodley in the eyes of two judges and the majority of viewers, but one judge had a scorecard that upset a lot of people.

Phil Rogers was the judge who made the big call to award Woodley rounds 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, while Dana DePaolo and Jaime Garagua both scored it in Paul’s favour.

Woodley struggled to get inside Paul’s range throughout the fight, aside from a beautiful right hand in the fourth round that almost dropped the YouTuber and secured him the round.

Regardless of the dodgy card from judge Rogers, the result went the way of Paul, who is now considering his options as he takes time away from boxing before returning for his fifth bout.

The YouTube star suffered a mini crisis in the fourth round when he was wobbled by a right hand from the former UFC welterweight world champion

But he recovered to edge a narrow win by scores of 77-75, 75-77 and 78-74 in what was his fourth professional fight.

Speaking after the result, Paul called Rogers out for his scorecard, saying it was “bulls***”, before declaring he was to take some time out from fighting.

“That split decision was bulls***, especially in my hometown, where’s that judge at?” Paul asked.

“I got eight rounds under my belt, who’s doing that in their fourth pro fight?

“I’ve been boxing for 18 months, I haven’t been to the dentist, my teeth are crooked, my nose is crooked, I need to take some time.

“I’m only 24-years-old, I need to find out who I am, I’m changing a lot.”

There is no shortage of opponents for the internet star, who seemed to create narratives on the night for a potential rematch with Woodley, as well as a fight with Tommy Fury.

Fury defeated Paul’s sparring partner Anthony Taylor in a dreadful four-round showing, but made headlines when the pair had an altercation in the hallway after the main event.

The Brit was being interviewed when he spotted the American and his sizeable entourage, who stopped the incident from getting physical.

“It just transpired about ten minutes ago,” Fury told reporters at the post-fight press conference. “I was doing an interview and his whole team landed.

“Jake Paul’s squaring up to me, the whole thing but he’s seen me at ringside leaning over the ropes waiting to get in there and there’s Logan saying, ‘not right now’.

“They ain’t fighters, I’ve said this from word one, if you want the fight I’m here and I’m ready to go, no running and no playing and it’s fine if you don’t want the fight just say it.

“We can put everyone’s mind to rest and stop bulls***ing all the time and just say how it is, you either want the fight or not.

“I want the fight, and if you don’t, that’s fine just say it and I can go my way and you go yours, but stop using my name.”

Paul also agreed to do a rematch with Woodley if the former UFC champion would get a tattoo with the words “I love Jake Paul”, as the two had agreed pre-fight.
