Kellie Bright and husband Paul Stocker have introduced the newest addition to their family, Rudy Joy Stocker.

The EastEnders star gave birth to the couple’s third child on 22 July at 4.05pm after conceiving their “miracle” third child via IVF.

Six weeks on from the birth, the actress has spoken to OK! about the “excruciating” birth and how lucky she feels having been able to “complete” her family.

The 45-year-old telly star explained to the publication that while “the actual delivery was so quick”, the labour left husband Paul comparing it to “a car crash”.

“The contractions were so quick and intense it took my breath away,” Kellie recalled.

“The midwives examined me 10 minutes later and I was 4cm dilated. I said, ‘I need to get to the labour ward now!’ and they said, “It’s fine, you have time,” but I said, “No, I need to go now!” They sent in a midwife with a wheelchair to take me to the labour ward.

I said, ‘I can’t sit on that!’ I was in excruciating pain so they told me to kneel on it and hold on to the back,” the mum-of-three continued.

“So I was kneeling on this wheelchair while my waters were still coming out of me. I’m in the throes of labour and this poor girl is having to wheel me down corridors and in and out of a lift.

“Paul was beside me and said it was hilarious. He said it was like a car crash – you couldn’t help but stare!”

Kellie added that 20 minutes after arriving on the labour ward, baby Rudy was welcomed into the world – with the star turning down an epidural as she “wanted to feel everything”.

The newborn baby joins brothers Freddy, nine, and Gene, four in completing the Linda Carter actress and Paul’s family.

The EastEnders star also confessed that she had been desperate for another child, feeling like she wasn’t fully “done” with having kids.

The new mum feels ‘overwhelmed with emotion’

Kellie Bright has fulfilled her dream of becoming a mum again

After falling pregnant naturally with their firstborn Freddy, the couple underwent IVF to conceive Gene after struggling the second time around.

Three extra embryos were frozen at the time, and following two failed attempts, Kellie and 38-year-old Paul’s dreams came true when she fell pregnant with their “miracle” third child.

The former Strictly Come Dancing runner-up told OK! how the couple’s journey to welcoming Rudy into the world “feels all the more poignant” and since his birth, she feels “overwhelmed with emotion” at him actually existing.

At 45 and as a parent of two young children already, some may not be able to relate to Kellie’s strong desire to add to her brood – something she addresses in her new interview.

“I know it’s not for everyone and there’s millions of women my age thinking, ‘God I wouldn’t want to go back to that for anything.’

“But for me, I just never had that feeling of being done with having children,” the new mum explained.

“It’s a really special and unique thing and I wanted to have it again. I do feel very lucky I’ve got to experience it again. But now, 100%, I feel this is it and the family is complete.”
