Lanarkshire film fans can enjoy full day of Christmas classics two months early

Christmas is coming early for Lanarkshire film fans as Showcase Cinemas prepare to treat moviegoers to a full day of the finest festive flicks.

The cinema chain’s early present will see classics ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’ , ‘The Polar Express’ , ‘Elf’ and ‘Home Alone’ screened at their complexes, including Bargeddie, on October 23 to get people in the mood for Santa’s ever-impending arrival.

The sensational stocking-fillers will entertain the whole family, with ‘It’s A Wonderful Life”, starring legendary actor James Stewart, sure to have you running down the street yelling “Merry Christmas” and Tom Hanks in ‘The Polar Express’ getting movie lovers on the right track for magical moments.

Guests can also watch Will Ferrell playing one of Santa’s helpers lost in the big city in the hilarious ‘Elf’ or see Kevin McAllister dealing with half-witted thieves in ‘Home Alone’.

Each film will be available for just £5 a ticket – a steal even the Grinch would be proud of, with audiences able to watch all four classics throughout the day.

Mark Barlow, UK general manager for Showcase Cinemas, told Lanarkshire Live : “It’s been a tough time for everyone these past 18 months, so we want to bring some early festive fun as we start the countdown to the most wonderful time of the year.

“We’ve brought Christmas forward a couple of months so everyone can start to get into the Christmas spirit.

“We have picked four festive favourites an we’re looking forward to a busy day of Christmas fun in the middle of October.”

‘The first day of Christmas’ will begin on October 23, with guests recommended to book tickets online via the Showcase Cinemas website
