Lorraine Kelly wants Daniel Craig ‘up for Oscar’ with Bond but slams pink suit

No Time To Die is out in UK cinemas on Thursday and Lorraine Kelly delivered her honest verdict on both the James Bond film and star Daniel Craig’s premiere look

Lorraine Kelly claims Daniel Craig ‘should win Oscar’ for last James Bond film

Lorraine Kelly has called for Daniel Craig to win an Oscar for No Time To Die but did not like his red carpet look for the premier.

Speaking on her ITV show on Monday, the Scottish presenter discussed the James Bond film and the red carpet looks from the premiere with fashion expert Mark Heyes.

Lorraine revealed: “I went to a screening last night. Well, can I say, go for a wee wee before you sit down. It’s two hours and 45 minutes…but it’s fantastic.

“Daniel Craig is so good, I think it’s his best performance yet. He should be up for an Oscar but he probably won’t be because it’s a Bond film and people are a bit snotty about that, sadly.”

The presenter also teased: “There’s many, many a shock.”

On the Duchess of Cambridge’s Jenny Packham golden dress on the red carpet, Lorraine commented that Kate looks “happy” and looked very “Hollywood”.

The dress cost £3893, according to Mark, and Lorraine said it was “ticking all the boxes”.

However, when it came to Daniel Craig’s bold pink tuxedo jacket, Lorraine was not so keen.

“I’m not so sure about this,” opined Lorraine, “now obviously he can wear whatever he bleeding well likes, he looks incredible, but I don’t know. I’m not sure.”

“I just thought it crashes a little bit with the red carpet.”

Lorraine did concede, however, that Daniel looks “gorgeous”.

The presenter also praised Ben Whishaw and Naomie Harris’ outfits, with Lorraine calling the latter a “goddess”.

Lorraine also spoke about British tennis player Emma Raducanu and called her “gorgeous” but claimed she should be careful not to dress in something that’s “a wee bit too old for her”, noting that the dress was “on the verge”.

She also praised Lea Seydoux’ s look for bringing Hollywood glamour and claimed Rita Hayworth would have worn something like it.

When Ana de Armas was shown in her black gown with leg slip, Loraine commented that she thought “Phoebe [Waller-Bridge, co-writer on the script] has had something to do with this character”.

Mark Heyes said Ana de Armas’ look is his idea of how to style a Bond girl.

On Monday, Daniel Craig had told Lorraine about the film finally being released, saying: “You’ve got to adapt. Certainly a lot of what went on in the earlier movies is sort of questionable now… different times, but we didn’t want to lose the essence.

“It’s still a bond movie. I’ve been given free range to put my influence on it, but I’ve never forgotten that.

“We can have all key elements and things people have loved over the years, but you adapt. One of my biggest things is all the characters, especially the women, have to be brilliant and believable.”

No Time To Die is finally due to be released on Thursday, September 30, 2021.

*Lorraine airs on weekdays at 9am on ITV with previous episodes available on ITV Hub.
