Love Island’s Priya Gopaldas answers questions from fans

Love Island bombshell Priya Gopaldas has hit out at a social media user for body shaming her, telling the troll “as women we should support each other”.

The 23-year-old medical student shared the abuse on her Instagram and insisted it is “the first and last time” she will respond to negative comments.

The troll called the former islander a “stupid tory b***h” and said her body was “absolutely disgusting to look at”.

The user horribly also told Priya that she was “all bones no flesh” and claimed that no one finds that attractive.

But the Londoner refused to get into a war of words and instead tried to educate the user to be more positive.

She said: “Hey Kiara, looking at your Instagram you’re clearly a beautiful girl! As women we should support each other and instead of body shaming we should try to stay kind.

“I love my body because it allows me to run far and be strong. Sometimes criticism like that can be damaging to a woman’s confidence and make them feel like they need to change themselves with surgery or by eating badly when actually we’re all uniquely beautiful.”

Priya concluded the message with a nice note, saying: “Hope you have an insightful bank holiday.”

She had also recently showed how she had generously donated her earnings from the show to NHS charities.

And her decision to respond in a positive manner to the online hate comes after several of this year’s islanders were subjected to online hate.

In July while still in the luxury villa, Chloe Burrows’ parents were angered after their anti-trolling post was removed from Instagram.

The blonde beauty’s loved ones have posted about the influx of abusive messages from trolls she had been receiving since arriving in the villa. And Love Island bosses were quick to slam the behaviour of users too.

The show’s official social media pages shared a strong message against online bullying and threats and urged the public to “think before posting” and reminded people that the show’s stars were in fact real people too.

Priya also revealed she has donated her Love Island earnings to the NHS

But unfortunately the message hasn’t hit home for everyone and last week Casa Amor star Lillie Haynes also revealed the shocking messages she has received since leaving the villa.

The 22-year-old Geordie said she had been told to “watch her back” in vile messages. And captioning a screen recording of a selection of offending messages “Good morning to you too”, her inbox can be seen to be filled with a message from a troll calling her a “man with a wig” and an “ugly b***h.”
