Love Island couple Toby Aromolaran and Chloe Burrows are going from strength to strength and the footballer says he thinks he’s got her dad’s seal of approval
Love Island’s Toby Aromolaran ticked off another first recently when he met the dad of his very first girlfriend.
The 22-year-old was introduced to partner Chloe Burrows’ dad and admits he was nervous going into territory unknown, calling it “the big one”.
Toby and blonde beauty Chloe, 25, had a turbulent time in the Love Island villa but eventually finished runners-up on the dating show after they officially became boyfriend and girlfriend.
Since leaving the luxury island home, things have gone from strength to strength for the pair.
After Chloe met Toby’s family, it was time for role reversal and the duo went for dinner with Chloe’s dad at a swanky London restaurant.
Luckily for Toby, the meeting seemed to go down a treat, despite their “graduation” antics in the villa not getting the thumbs up.
The Hashtag United footballer told The Mirror: “That’s the first time that I’ve met any girl’s dad and yeah it seemed to go really well.
“I don’t know how it’s supposed to go, but in my head it went well. He’s a sweet guy and I can’t wait to see him again.”
When questioned whether it was intimidating to meet after their relationship had unfolded on screen, Toby admitted: “No. I think I was nervous to meet my girlfriend’s dad because that’s a big step.
“I’m so happy that I met him because after the first few seconds I was nervous and then he gave me a big smile and then it was sweet.
“He likes me in a way, so I’m happy. Everything went good!”
However, Toby did confess that with their busy schedules he doesn’t know when the next meet up will take place.
“Who knows. Christmas? Next week? Who knows,” he added.
Toby’s newly-found packed schedule saw him announced as boohooMAN’s new brand ambassador on Friday night.
He says he’s “so excited” for the range as “everyone is going back out and you don’t want to wear your old clothes from pre-Covid”.
As well as his new roles, he’s adamant he will continue his football career whenever possible.
He added that his love for the game helps to keep him grounded following the whirlwind turnaround he has faced since leaving the dating series.
“Playing football, you don’t think about anything else,” he said. “I love doing it.”
And, as he plans to move in with Chloe, he admits that they have looked for a property around Essex which will keep him close to his club.
“We were like ‘where do we move to?’ he said. “[We chose] Essex, because it’s near my family, it’s near football as well and it’s a nice area.”
