Nick Cannon’s girlfriend shares final video of son Zen before his death

Nick Cannon ‘s former girlfriend Alyssa Scott has shared a heartbreaking video and picture of their five-month-old son Zen before his tragic death.

The 41-year-old presenter and musician announced the sad news that his son had died over the weekend after being diagnosed with a type of brain cancer.

Nick appeared on his daytime TV show on Tuesday to confirm Zen had passed away, and said he’d managed to spend his final few hours with his son on the beach watching the sunset.

Hours after his death, Alyssa took to her Instagram Stories to share a heartbreaking video of her son, as well as a photo of her gorgeous baby boy.

In one clip, she can be seen cradling her son in her arms as she talks to him.

“Hi, you slept pretty good. Did you have lots of dreams? What were you dreaming about?” she cooed.

And in one photo, Alyssa is holding Zen in her arms, while another snap shows him wearing a cute pair of dungarees as he relaxes on a bed.

Nick and Alyssa welcomed Zen on June 23, and the former America’s Got Talent host said he had become concerned with the youngster’s coughing, and took him to a doctor to get checked out, but had no idea he was about to be given life-changing news.

“Over the weekend, I lost my youngest son to a condition called hydrocephalus…brain cancer. It’s tough. And I have my therapist here, who’s been helping us through it,” Nick explained, noting that Zen had ‘always had a cough’.

“He had this interesting breathing and by the time he was two months I noticed he had this nice sized head too – a Cannon head. We didn’t think anything of it,” Nick recalled, as he told the audience he had taken Zen to a ‘routine appointment’ to sort out his sinuses.

After his shocking diagnosis, the tot underwent surgery to try and remove the build up of fluid from his brain, but in late November, his condition quickly worsened.

“The tumour began to grow a lot faster. And so we knew that time was…,” the visibly emotional star said.

Nick said Zen passed away over the weekend, and he managed to take his son to the ocean just hours before he died.

“I didn’t know how I was going to handle today, but I just wanted to grieve with my family,” he said, as he told viewers he wanted to return to work to help distract him from the pain of losing his son.
