Woman exposes restaurant’s steak recipe but it’s a ‘heart attack on a plate’

Tammy took to TikTok to share the trick to getting restaurant-quality steak in the comfort of your own home – but viewers were horrified by how much butter she used

TikToker shows the ‘secret’ behind making steak in restaurants

A woman has divided opinions online after she shared a bizarre steak ‘hack’ that restaurants apparently ‘don’t want you to know’.

Tammy regularly shares interesting recipes and food hacks on her TikTok, where she’s known as @tammylouiseee, like the ‘correct’ way to eat peanut butter and how to make ‘the best mashed potato.’

But now she’s revealed how restaurants apparently cook their steak so you can replicate it at home.

In the now viral clip, Tammy begins by taking an entire stick of butter and smothering it over one side of the steak.

She said: “Forget going out to eat at fancy restaurants, this is the best.”

Tammy massages the butter into one side of the steak and flips it before uses another stick of butter to cover the other side, before covering it in taco seasoning.

As she places the steak into the pan, almost instantly, a pool of butter appears.

After seasoning the other side of the meat, she adds onion to the pan, flips the steak over and turns up the heat, before – you guessed it – she adds yet another stick of butter.

Her friend asks: “Does the butter soaks into the meat?”

To which Tammy replies: “The butter soaks. It’s going to make it creamy, yummy, all good.”

She then removes the steak from the pan and cuts it ready to serve.

Since being posted, the video has racked up almost 90,000 likes and 9,000 comments from many viewers who were concerned for their health.

“Restaurants ain’t gonna waste that much butter mate,” said one person.

Another, who claimed they work in hospitality, said: “GUYS I WORK IN A RESTAURANT AND I CAN CLARIFY WE DO NOT DO THIS!”

A third wrote: “My arteries clogged just watching this.”

“I think she forgot the butter,” joked someone else.

But others thanked her for sharing the tip and thought it looked delicious, as one person said: “OMG WOOOW THE BUTTER BELTED WOW WOW WOW,” and someone else added: “Thanks for the video, looks good guys.”
