He told his followers: “Like my mate Mr Wood says, ‘you got to get out there. You got to do it.’ He goes running and I go cycling.”

He said: “One of the best examples of somebody being rude is when we were at the BBC Good Food show. This woman looks at me and says, ‘You’re fatter than you are on telly.’”

Adam has also undergone something of a shake-up in his personal life too.
The actor announced in a statement in August 2020 that he had split with wife Beverley after 22 years of marriage.

A spokesperson for Adam said at the time :” Beverley and Adam separated in August last year and we ask that the family’s privacy is respected’

A source added to The Sun: ‘Beverley was naturally very upset, as anybody would be in the circumstances, but these things happen and it’s a straightforward separation.

“Nobody plans for these things and divorce is a difficult thing to get your head around but they have dealt with it quietly for several months and are now telling friends so it’s less of a secret.

‘They still get on well, and are keen to make sure they stay that way for the sake of their children – even though they are now grown up.”

After the break-up, Adam moved out of the family home and into a £93k motorhome.

He bought the portable home after landing a role in a touring play but decided to move into it early, after the show’s start date was delayed from January to July in the pandemic.

He told Zoe Ball’s Radio 2 breakfast show: “I am loving my break, I’m having a ball. I’m getting ready for the tour which was supposed to have started in January, then it was supposed to start in April and then it was supposed to start in June – it keeps getting knocked back.

“But basically I’m in a motorhome.

“I’ve got a motorhome ready for the tour so I won’t have to worry about staying in hotels or anything like that.

“But I’ve taken advantage of it and I’m currently in a field in Devon.”
