R&B singer Emani 22 has reportedly died aged 22, with rapper Bhad Barbie paying an emotional tribute.

Rumours had circulated online last night that Emani 22, whose real name is Emani Johnson, had passed and there were suggestions that she was involved in a car accident.

Emani had released her debut album last year and today they were heartfelt tributes to the singer.

Bhad Barbie, whose real name is Danielle Peskowitz Bregoli, took to Instagram today to share her thoughts on the reported passing of Emani.

She wrote: “I don’t even know what to say… This doesn’t even feel real.

“I used to spend almost everyday with you. You taught me so many things. You are my inspiration for many things (hair,nails, style, etc) my big sister. I’m gonna miss you so much.”

Another tribute was paid by a close friend to Emani, who is known as @alannatheballer on Instagram, who posted a series of images.

She captioned the pics: “‘my heart hurts so bad. i love you so much emani. i’m so sorry this happened to you.

“you didn’t deserve this at all! you were such a light to so many of us.”









The message continued: “thank you for always being so loving and kind to me. you always went above and beyond for me and always looked out for me.

“i love how bold you were and were never scared to tell me how you feel. i’m so happy we reconnected last year.”

Emani 22 released her debut album, titled The Color Red, on streaming sites last year, and she told VoyageLA in 2018 that she had a passion for making music.
