Cheryl took a year-long break to focus on her son Bear who she shares with ex Liam Payne. She’s now getting back to what she does best with a performance at Mighty Hoopla this weekend
Cheryl is set to make her return to music by performing at the Mighty Hoopla festival this weekend.
The event will take place in Brockwell Park, London on Saturday 4th September. It marks her first live performance in several years after the star took a break to care for her young son Bear.
Organisers released a statement on their website which reads: “We are thrilled that this year’s Hoopla will be closed by one of the millennium’s most iconic pop stars.
“Having risen to fame in one of biggest girl groups of the 21st century, Cheryl has since gone on to release five number-one singles in the UK – the first British female solo artist to achieve this feat.
“Revellers can expect to hear smash hits ‘Fight for This Love’, ‘Call My Name’ and ‘Crazy Stupid Love’ in a pop-tastic set that’s sure to blow your military hats off.”
Cheryl also took to Instagram to announce that she would be performing at the festival.
She posted a photo of her with some dancers whilst wearing a tie dye tracksuit with the caption: “Hoopla…you ready?!”
Cheryl took a year long break from social media but recently to share a selfie in a white shirt.
She also included the caption: “We back **all covid tested”
There was also another photo which was a mirror selfie of the star with a group of people she had been working with at the time for Feel vitamins.
It has been reported that Cheryl had invested in Feel vitamins, and she has since become the face of the brand as she focussed on the supplement business.
However, it’s not just promoting the brand that has been keeping her busy.
Just a week ago the star announced via Instagram that she would be hosting a new show on BBC Sounds called You, Me & R&B.
She shared a picture of herself from a photoshoot with the caption: “I’ve always had an absolute love and passion for R&B and I’m so excited to share my new show You, Me & R&B with you on @bbcsounds
“I’ve really been transported back re-listening to all these tracks and I’m excited for you to relive those moments with me. Episode 1 is live now”.
In the first of 12 episodes of You, Me and R&B, she plays 15 of her favourite tracks, revealing their special meaning to her.
They include Ashanti’s Rock Wit U and TLC’s Diggin’ On You.
She finishes with Nice & Slow by Texan singer Usher – who once confessed to a crush after meeting her on X Factor.
