A doctor has gone viral on social media after sharing a number of handy medical tips, including how to fall asleep easier at night time and how to bring back the feeling in a dead arm
While TikTok might be a big black hole of dance videos, crazy edits and bizarre trends, every so often we come across a video on our for you page that’s actually helpful.
And now we’ve also been taught some handy medical tricks thanks to Dr Anthony Youn, from Detroit.
The holistic plastic surgeon has gone viral on the video-sharing platform with a recent video about ‘body hacks’.
His video features a number of different tips for people, including how to get rid of nausea and also how to revive a ‘dead arm’.

But perhaps most interesting is his top tip for those struggling to get to sleep at night.
And Anthony’s solution couldn’t be easier – all you need is one very common kitchen cupboard item.
He says: “I just cannot fall asleep at night.
“Try a scoop of peanut butter before going to bed. It contains tryptophan which will help you fall asleep.”
According to webmd.com, tryptophan “plays a role in the production of serotonin, a mood stabilizer, melatonin, which helps regulate sleep patterns”.
In his clip, Anthony also suggests sniffing an alcohol swab if you’re feeling nauseous and to rock your head side to side a few times to relax the neck if you find that your arm has fallen asleep.
And for those who are stressed, the expert recommends closing your eyes, inhaling for a count of four and exhaling for a count of eight.
“Do that a few times and you’re gonna feel so much better,” he adds.
The video has been viewed over one million times and garnered over 309,000 likes and thousands of comments.
One person replied: “You just gave me a lifetime worth of hacks/”
Another said: “I do the peanut butter thing if I can’t fall asleep. I’ve convinced myself that if I eat a spoonful of peanut butter it’ll put me out and it always has.”
A third wrote: “Thanks for the tips, I have trouble sleeping so I’m definitely giving the peanut butter one a try.”
