EastEnders’ Dotty and Rocky’s evil scheme under threat as character returns

EastEnders airs the return of a past character next week, leaving Dotty and Tom Cotton’s money scheme at risk of being exposed

EastEnders’ Tom Cotton might find his lies exposed next week, as a returning character appears to know his true identity.

Despite posing as Sonia’s father Terry Cant for months, it has recently turned out he is in fact Dotty Cotton’s secret uncle, Thomas.

The truth was revealed last week, as Dotty confirmed they had teamed up to get their hands on her grandmother Dot’s inheritance, after Sonia was made power of attorney.

While going by the nickname Rocky, only Dotty knows the truth about his lies and that he isn’t really Sonia’s dad.

That said, one character is returning to the soap next week, and she too could expose the truth.

Dotty is left stunned when her mother Sandy shows up out of the blue, ready to cause more trouble.

Sandy hasn’t been seen in Walford since 2010, and since then her and her daughter have had quite the rocky relationship.

Her being the ex of Nick Cotton, it seems she may know Rocky too – while the family tree hasn’t really been explained since the twist aired.

It is thought Rocky or Tom is a sibling of Dotty’s father Nick, while it has not been confirmed if they ever met given Tom has never been mentioned before.

That said, Rocky panics according to spoilers for next week, as he sees Sandy in the club – making it clear he knows exactly who she is.

He wastes no time in warning Dotty that if he is spotted by her, she could blow their cover and thwart their plan for the money.

It all kicks off when Dotty is hosting a noughties night at the club she manages, with Rocky managing to get tickets for himself and Sonia – who has no idea she is being tricked.

It’s at this event that a drunk woman suddenly appears, and Rocky realises who she is straight away – and soon Dotty is left gasping.

Interrupting proceedings, she introduces herself before hurling abuse at her daughter in front of everyone there.

Dotty decides to meet with her mum for a chat, while Rocky fears she may be too close to the truth.

But what exactly does Sandy want, and why is she back after so long?

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
