Hairy Biker Si King reveals Dave Myers is ‘not well’ with Covid

The Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers is “not too well” after battling Covid, according to his co-star Si King.

Appearing on The One Show to talk about their new series Go North, Si gave an update on how his close pal is doing as presenter Rylan Clark-Neal was worried about Dave’s absence.

Si revealed that his Covid battle wasn’t bad, but his TV partner was “not too well” afterwards.

Disappointed by Si’s solo appearance, Rylan asked: “Si, no Dave? Is he alright?”

Si told him: “He has Covid. He’s getting there. I think he’s not too well but it’s not bad. It’s very odd to be here without him. It’s a bit odd.”

The TV star added: “He’s behind the sofa isn’t he? He’s having a laugh.”

Rylan then said: “You know what the new series is great,” before asking Si why they had decided to be more personal in the new series.

“We just wanted to open up a little and just have the craic,” he explained.

“You know what Dave and I are like, we can talk the hind leg off a donkey. It was just nice to do and a lovely show to do with the people we know and love and the food we grew up with.”

Dave and Si have a close friendship and have always been there for each other.

Dave supported his pal a few years ago when he was rushed to hospital after suffering from headaches, which gradually got worse overtime.

It led to his decision to go and get checked out at the hospital, and he is lucky he did.

He was told he had a brain aneurysm and if he’d not gone to hospital would likely “be dead”.

“It’s an incredibly scary thing. More people die from this type of thing than survive,” Si previously said.

“I’m an incredibly lucky man to even be here today to talk about it. I can’t thank the doctors and nurses enough.

“It’s not just the, ‘Am I going to die here?’ thing.

“It’s the knowledge that even if you don’t die, you can be left with damage to the brain.”

*The Hairy Bikers Go North continues Thursday on BBC Two at 8pm.
