Laura Whitmore’s snarky response to Love Island fans’ reunion disappointment

Laura Whitmore took to her Instagram story to “clarify” that she was not responsible for Love Island’s Kaz Kamwi and Tyler Cruickshank not being given an interview on the sofa during the reunion episode

Love Island: Laura reveals Jake is missing reunion through illness

Laura Whitmore is refusing to take the wrap for Love Island fans being upset at Sunday night’s reunion show.

The TV presenter hit back at criticism from viewers after they fumed at not seeing loved-up couple Kaz Kamwi and Tyler Cruickshank given a joint interview on the sofa.

Fans took to social media to point out how the other couples who made the final – Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran, Faye Winter and Teddy Soares, and Millie Court and Liam Reardon – were given more airtime and a chat with the host but that Kaz and Tyler were seated in the audience during their interview.

One fumed: “The love island reunion was a whole mess, my kaz and tyler still getting played with.”

A second echoed: “kaz & tyler’s journey was acc one of the most interesting to happen this season. they deserved to discuss their journey on the sofa & not across the room.”

More added: “Not bringing Kaz and Tyler on to the stage is the most disrespectful thing I’ve seen all season #LoveIslandReunion ” and “i actually adore kaz and tyler. gurl why tf did they not get sofa time like the other finals? bit muggy.”

Following the backlash, Laura took to her Instagram Stories to “clarify” that it was nothing to do with her as she penned a snarky post.

The mother of one wrote on Monday: “Shall I clarify a few other things? Hundreds of people work on Love Island. My job is not to organise seating arrangements. I barely know what seat I’m sitting in before the show as set changes so much.

“We invited Kaz to sit with Toby for his exes segment but she didn’t want to and it’s her choice to make. Everything is run through with the Islanders before hand. It’s all about choice!”

Laura went on: “I only ask questions that are pre approved by the compliance division. A lot of meetings happen before I see the script and then I can add my voice.”

She added: “Unlike previous years, the Islanders weren’t allowed alcohol. Please remember they are just regular people who were nervous on live telly, I’m sure some would have loved a drink for the nerves.”

However, fans were not happy with Laura’s post and returned to Twitter to slam the host for her message.

After Laura’s words on social media fans returned to social media to vent their fury

A micro-blogger screenshot Laura’s upload and wrote: “Laura is so dumb do you really think after y’all didn’t invite Kaz and Tyler to the couch to talk about their journey she would want to talk about how she was apart of Toby’s journey if she don’t go to hell #LoveIsland.”

Another upset TV fan added: “They still can’t say I’m not answering any questions it’s the reunion? Laura literally said they have to confirm the questions before hand again it still doesn’t make sense why Tyler and Kaz couldn’t be questioned ON THE SOFAS instead of in the crowd.”

Others joined in: “That Laura Whitmore statement is absolute rubbish! Everyone was allowed to sit on the sofa last night for their own segment! Kaz & Tyler were finalists so why was Kaz only asked to come and sit on the sofa for a Toby segment?? #LoveIsland.”
