Supermarket shopper left speechless by note from staff in home food delivery

A supermarket customer was left stunned to find two gifts and a handwritten note from staff hidden among her home delivery order – and it’s not the first time they’ve done it

If you have your weekly shop delivered to your door, it’s likely the only note you’ve ever found among your food is one informing you of the items that are missing.

But one customer in Australia got a very different note in her order, handwritten by the staff who had packed her list in the store.

The woman received her delivery from Woolworths Supermarket in Melbourne, and found that along with her usual groceries, she also had a bouquet of flowers and a box chocolates that she hadn’t included in the shop, as reported by

Along with the additions, there was a handwritten note, reading: “Congratulations on your 100th order! Thank you so much for continually choosing us to be your personal shoppers! Have a great night and stay safe! From the Woolies Thift Park online team =).”

It came with a message thanking the customer for her 100th order

Another shopper shared their own similar experience with the supermarket

The shopper posted a photo of the message and gifts on the official Woolies Facebook page, writing: “Oh my god this is the cutest thing ever!!

“Please pass on our thanks to the Woolies Thrift Park team!! They are seriously the best.”

Staff at Woolworths spotted the post and responded to thank her for the kind words, replying: “We’re glad to see that our Thrift Park Team made your day with a little surprise for being the 100th order.

“We shared this with the Store Management Team and we’re sure the team would be happy to hear about this. We hope you have a lovely weekend.”

And other shoppers then came forward to say they had received similar gifts in their orders, as one customer shared a picture of a Cadbury chocolate bar she found in her shop.

She wrote: “Woolworths — This was an exceptional bit of customer service.

“A really nice surprise when it had been a tough week and a bit of chocolate went a long way to making my morning! Thank you personal shopper!”

The supermarket told that the gifts are part of a Good Acts initiative, as staff try to find ways to brighten a customer’s day.

A spokesperson said: “We try to bring a little good to our customers every day through our Good Acts program.

“From handwritten notes to flowers or a box of chocolates, our teams like to go above and beyond for our customers to make their shopping experience extra special.”
