EastEnders star Kellie Bright gives birth to ‘miracle baby’

Kellie Bright has revealed she has welcomed her “miracle” third child with her husband, Paul Stocker.

Our sister site OK! exclusively revealed the news that the 45-year actress had given birth to a healthy child after undergoing a frozen embryo transfer.

The couple already has two sons – Freddy, nine and Gene, four.

Sharing the happy news, the 45-year-old said: “We’re thrilled to announce the safe arrival of the latest addition to our family. Mum and baby are doing well.”

The couple previously spoke about their IVF journey to conceive their child – the method they used to successfully conceive son Gene.

Kelly and Paul, 31, said they had struggled to get pregnant with their second child and got four strong embryos, one of which became Gene.

Having frozen three embryos, the couple decided at the end of 2019 to try for a third baby.

Kellie told OK! when announcing her pregnancy back in March: “So this baby inside me now was the last one we had – the last chance of pregnancy, because at 44 we were not going through IVF again. I believe it was meant to be.”

She added: “With the third one, I didn’t think that had worked either because I had a bleed two days before I was due to take the pregnancy test.

“It was significant enough for me to be in floods of tears with my husband cradling me.”

The soap star said she almost fell to the floor when she realised she was pregnant for the third time.

When she first announced the news, she faced criticism for being an older mum.

Kellie hit back: ” First of all, if I was a man having my third child at 44, no one would bat an eyelid. Don’t forget my husband is much younger than me.

“He’s in his thirties, so he’s still running around after the kids, which is great. We met when I was 31, and I didn’t want to jump straight into having kids.”

Recalling the moment she realised they would be welcoming a new addition to the family. Kellie said: “I just stood crying – really crying – and he couldn’t understand a word I was saying! It took my breath away.

“I knew it was my last chance, so the fact it was positive was so unbelievably wonderful. A truly wonderful, crazy life moment.”
