A knife and several drugs packages were seized in three separate incidents in the same Birmingham suburb, with two high-end cars stopped.
Police teams have proactively targeted Stockland Green in Erdington in the past week and seized Class A drugs, a blade and made four arrests, in attempt to stop drug dealing.
The first stop took place in Oxford Road off Summer Road in Erdington shortly before 6.30pm on Saturday, September 25.
Officers from the Birmingham East Neighbourhood Task Force (NTF) stopped and seized an Audi A3 and arrested a 41-year-old man and 17-year-old boy on suspicion of possession and dealing crack cocaine.
The teenager was also arrested on suspicion of possessing a knife. A knife and Class A drugs were sieved.
Both were released under investigation after questioning, West Midlands Police said.
There then followed two stops in quick succession in adjoining roads in Stockland Green involving separate police teams.
The first took place in Slade Road in Stockland Green, Erdington, at 11.42am on Wednesday, September 22.
The Project Guardian youth violence and knife crime team Tweeted: “Task Force officers have been in Stockland Green, Erdington.
“Following a footchase, with a bike and e-scooter a package was dropped. Enquiries have revealed ‘the owner’ so if you would like to come and ‘discuss’ the matter.”
A 19-year-old man was stopped and searched but was not arrested.
At 11.49am on Wednesday, September 22, a BMW X3 was ‘stopped and seized’ along with wraps of suspected heroin in Reservoir Road in Stockland Green.
The Birmingham East NTF team Tweeted: “A large amount of Class A was found “hidden” during a stop search. Any guesses where??
“We continue to tackle drug dealing and knife crime in Erdington.”
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “Two men – a 24-year-old and a 35-year-old were both arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply heroin.
“They have both been released under investigation after questioning.”
The stops came in the same week a large £100,000 cannabis farm was found, also in Stockland Green, by chance. The officers were raiding an address in Marsh Hill on September 21 at 6am, searching for weapons.
And while in the process of doing so two suspects fled from a property next door, which was searched and the cannabis factory revealed.
