Looking for something different to do in the run-up to Christmas?
A new ‘Enchanted Garden’ light trail is coming to Webbs of Wychbold, where families will be invited into a world of fairy tales and festivities.
Organisers are promising an orchard aglow with toadstools, fairies darting in and out of the trees, a candy cane-lined riverbank and a jewel-lit woodland.
All of the characters have been hand-drawn and will be brought to life with giant lanterns, projections, sounds and lighting.
Taking place in the newly-extended Riverside Gardens, the trail will ultimately lead to Santa’s snow-covered workshop and house at the North Pole where children can stop to talk to the big man in red and pose for photos.
“We are very excited to bring a new and very special Christmas experience to Webbs of Wychbold,” said Ed Webb.
“We have invested heavily, extending the Riverside Gardens into the woodland beyond, to ensure that The Enchanted Gardens is a magical experience for all the family to enjoy.”
The first stop on the multi-sensory route are the fairy gardens, the place where Thumbelina finally finds happiness with her prince. Children will be encouraged to look and listen out for fairies chattering away in the trees.
Next, families will stroll through bright, stripy candy canes along the riverbank and past gingerbread houses as they call for The Gingerbread Man to run, run, as fast he can!
The trail then leads into the ‘jewel-lit forest’ to discover a candy-cane cottage buried deep in the woods but kids will need to beware of the giant on the hunt for his golden goose!
The Enchanted Gardens runs from Saturday November 6 to Sunday January 2. Tickets cost £50 for a family of four (off peak) and £55 at peak times. Children aged 2 and under are free.
Webbs of Wychbold is on Worcester Road in Droitwich Spa. This is where we held our Brummie Mummies Christmas Social back in 2019.
In addition to the light trail, Webbs’ traditional grottos will be running at West Hagley for children to meet Santa and take away a gift. The grotto will run from November 13. Book tickets here
