This year’s stunning display features new additions of adorable Mr and Mrs Gingerbread and one of the swans from the famous 12 days of Christmas song.

There are still old favourites to enjoy too including the oldest illumination of a big friendly snowman by the front door.

Father Christmas and the town crier joined the Molloys for the switch-on at their Worcestershire home, which featured on Channel 5 TV show ‘Britain’s craziest Christmas lights’.

In the programme, 63-year-old building contractor Malcolm explained how he started doing the festive lights because he didn’t have much of a Christmas as a foster child.

Dozens of people braved the damp cold weather to see the switch-on at 5.30pm.

Carol singers and a hog roast from Bromsgrove restaurant Ascotts were part of the light-up celebrations outside the house along with Santa thanks to Bromsgrove Round Table.

Wendy Molloy said: “We love doing it and seeing everyone’s faces light up is a real joy. We are kids at heart.”
